James F. “Larry” Ray, 77, formerly of New Haven
James F. “Larry” Ray, 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Louisville and New Haven, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Fort Myers. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Fort Myers. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville. He was a retired chemical engineer for Zeon Chemical Company with 30 years of service. He was born June 4, 1935, and was the son of the late William Cooper and Mary Dorothy Medley Ray. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, William J. “Bill” Ray and his wife Terry, both of Memphis, Ind., and James L. Ray of Louisville; three daughters, Kim Smith and her husband Hollis, both of Louisville, Sandi Streicher and her husband Chris, both of Goshen, and Terry Reymundo and her husband Alex, both of Prospect; five sisters, Betty Johnson of Louisville, Billie Joyce Alvey and her husband Charlie, both of New Haven, June Carol Mahoney and her husband Jerry, both of New Haven, Mary Ann Cahoe and her husband Bill, both of Louisville, and Dolly Ray of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Lizzy, Katie, Christopher, Alexandra, Christian, Michael, Adam, and Walter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at St. Catharine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. A prayer service is 6 p.m. in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, and 8-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
