CATHERINE NORRIS HUTCHENS FAUST

Catherine Norris Hutchens Faust, 91, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Windsor Gardens Nursing Home. She was the adopted daughter of George L. and Regina Clark Norris and the widow of James A. Hutchens of Bardstown and Eugene “Gene” Faust of Louisville. She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for 69 years, a member of St. Martha Church in Louisville for 18 years and a member of St. Joseph Church in Bardstown for 2 years. She earned her nursing diploma at the old St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville, class of 1943. She continued her education at Nazareth College and graduated in 1955. In 1967, she graduated from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work and served in the Department of Human Resources until 1980. She worked in the oncology department at St. Anthony Hospital until her retirement in 1988.

She is survived by the Georgia Cecil family of Bardstown and the families of Joyce and Nellis Norris of Bardstown.

A Mass of Christian burial is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at St. Thomas Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville. The Rev. Ben Brown will be the celebrant.

Visitation os 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, and 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be Monday at 6:00 pm conducted by Deacon Dick Walsh.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Church or the Nelson County Humane Society.
