Ann Lavon Cornish, 62, Bloomfield

Ann Lavon Cornish, 62, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was the former Ann Wallingford and a native of Jefferson County. She was a retired employee with the Nelson County Board of Education having worked in food service at Bloomfield Middle School with 23 years of service. She was a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church and she was a former member of the Bloomfield Order of the Eastern Star.

She was the daughter of the late Avery and Gladys Burgin Wallingford and was preceded in death by a sister Nora Woods.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Cornish of Bloomfield; one daughter, Missy Cornish of Chaplin; one son Bruce Cornish and his wife Stacey, both of Bloomfield; two sisters Rose Burkhead of Mount Washington, and Judy Tate of Fairfield; and two grandchildren, Sydney Cornish and Abby Cornish.

The funeral was 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 8, 2012, at the Wakefield Baptist Church with burial in Big Spring Cemetery. Bro. Tom Sparrow officiated.

Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield was in charge of arrangements.
