Patricia “Patty” Ann Hendricks, 58, Bloomfield

Patricia “Patty” Ann Hendricks, 58, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at her home. She was born Dec. 12, 1954, in LaGrange. She was an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse working with Dr. Eric Hilgeford at Golden Living Nursing Homes Hillcreek, St. Matthews Manor, Camelot, and Mount Holly, where she not only provided medical care to patients but also mentored numerous Nurse Practitioner Students. She had been a professor at The University of Louisville School of Nursing where she taught Pathophysiology and mentored numerous nursing students in their practicum to finish out their Practitioner Degrees as well as Registered Nursing students. Prior to this she worked at Jewish Hospital of Louisville in nursing education after spending several years as a Registered Nurse in the medical surgery units. She earned her BS, MS, and APRN in nursing at the University of Louisville.

She is survived by her husband, Sanford “Sandy” Lee Hendricks Sr. of Bloomfield; her father, Jack Poole and her mother, Marge Smalley, both of Indiana; one daughter, Dana Ann Hope of New Albany, Ind.; one son, Christopher Wayne Lockhart and his wife Sarah, both of Seattle, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Chrissy Fulkerson and her husband Jamie, both of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, Sanford “Sandy” Hendricks Jr. and his wife Amanda, both of Bardstown, and John Hendricks and his wife Verneasa, both of Bloomfield; five sisters, Connie Poole of Indiana, Deborah “Debbie” Tooke of Florida, Janet Puckett of Indiana, Jacquelyn Eckert of Colorado, and Katy Avada Poole of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Austin Hooper, Jordon Hope, Hana Hendricks, Ryan Hendricks, Sara Hendricks, Dean Hendricks, Houston Hendricks, Garrett Hendricks, and Aiden Fulkerson;

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at Barlow Funeral Home, Bardstown, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Rev. Paul Purdue will officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, and 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Nelson County.
