John Marvin Cook, 75, Bardstown
John Marvin Cook, 75, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at his home. He was born May 13, 1937, in Little Mount. He was a retired self-employed farmer, and a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Bessie White Cook.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Cook of Bardstown; one daughter, Tami Chesser and her husband Vic, both of Louisville; one son, Jonathan (Terri) Cook and his wife Terri, both of Shelbyville; one sister, Frances (Sturgeon) Leathers and her husband Sturgeon, both of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Tara Clark and her husband Ben, and Tyler Chesser; one stepgranddaughter, Logan Lacefield; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville. Dr. James Carroll and the Rev. Eddie Benton will officiate.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. monday, Dec. 17, 2012, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Parkway Baptist Church, or Hospice of Nelson County.
