Bardstown man arrested after threatening girlfriend with knife

police_badgeMonday, Dec. 17, 2012, 10:45 a.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested in connection to a domestic dispute and claims he threatened another person with a large knife.

Bardstown Police responded to a domestic dispute called in at about 5:24 Saturday morning from 118 Barberry Ave. The female caller told Nelson County Dispatch her boyfriend assaulted her and was threatening her with a knife. When police arrived, they saw a man with a large, fixed-blade knife handling it in a threatening manner toward a woman in the residence. The officers forced open the door and held Donald D. Hughes II, 26, at gunpoint until he surrendered the knife. Hughes was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment, second-degree, and assault, fourth-degree and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The female victim suffered minor injuries.
