Matthew Thomas, 51, Louisville

Matthew Thomas, 51, of Louisville, died Tuesday Dec. 18, 2012, in St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was an employee of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville where he worked in the maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Redmon Thomas; and one sister, Della Wolfe.

He is survived by his mother, Velvie Barker Thomas of Louisville; six sisters, Bernice Arnett, Ruth Crawford, Mary A. Thomas, Eleanor Thomas, all of Louisville, Mattie Henderson of Paynesville, and Carolyn Tipton of Shelbyville;
three brothers, Arthur Thomas of Lumberton, Miss., Clyde Thomas and Nathan Thomas, both of Louisville; his companion, Marcia Lopez; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Bro. Roger Thurman officiating. Burial is in the Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
