Firefighters respond to report of an active carbon monoxide detector

fireshieldMonday, Dec. 24, 2012, 4 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded at about 8:45 Monday morning to a reported activated carbon monoxide detector at a home in the 100 block of Highland Drive. Firefighters used their gas detectors and found no traces of CO and determined the detector had a weak battery. The resident was also advised to have some gas fireplace logs checked for proper operation. Firefighters were on scene only a short time before clearing.
