JOHN LIONEL ‘LONNIE’ MATTINGLY

John Lionel “Lonnie” Mattingly, 63, formerly of Louisville and Boston, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. He was born May 25, 1949, in Marion County. He worked in construction and was a Catholic by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Spalding Mattingly and Frances Hallene Blair Mattingly.

Survivors include one son, Jeremy Mattingly and his wife Aaryka, both of North Carolina; one daughter, Melissa Dreyer and her husband Keith of Wilton, Minn.; five sisters, Jenny Thomas, Sue Ann Thompson and her husband Kenny, and Brenda Haas and her husband Mike, all of Louisville, Angela Marshall and her husband Troy, both of Nashville, Theresa Kocis and her husband Pete, both of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers, John A. Mattingly and his wife Diane, Mark Mattingly and his wife Tammie, all of Louisville, and Jerry Mattingly and his wife Dee Dee, both of Irvington; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, followed by burial in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will officiate.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
