MARTHA JOANN ‘JO’ DONANUE

Martha JoAnn “Jo” Donahue, 66, of Bardstown,  died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was a native of Nelson County, a healthcare giver, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was the daughter of the late John Ernest and Golda Clark Donahue.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, J.E. Donahue and Howard Donahue; two sisters, Kathleen Porter and Judy Ballard; and her companion, Jim Draper.

She is survived by four sisters, Mary Hammond, Pauline Jackson of Louisville, Mary Clark of New Hope, and Frances Culver and her husband Lee Roy, both of Boston; three brothers, Rob Donahue and his wife Marie, Gerald Donahue and his wife Louise, and Tom Donahue, all of Bardstown; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Bill Hammer officiating.
Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd., with a prayer service Thursday evening at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County or the Nelson County Humane Society.
