STAFF REPORT

Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, 12:20 a.m. — Nelson County and much of central Kentucky remains under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 p.m. today.

A mix of rain and snow will continue to fall overnight, changing to all snow by about 4 a.m. Nelson County and areas north of the Blue Grass Parkway and Western Kentucky Parkway can expect 1-4 inches of possible snow accumulation by this evening.

The areas of just south of the Ohio River will likely have snow accumulations of up to 4 inches, while areas further south will see snow on the order of 1 to 2 inches.

Deputies with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office told dispatchers that roads on the northern half of Nelson County were partly covered with snow at about 10 p.m. Friday evening.

Road conditions may be hazardous due to snow accumulation overnight and through the day Saturday. Travelers should use caution and plan extra time to reach their destinations.
