Man injured after car leaves roadway while swerving to miss deer

Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, 1 a.m. — A 36-year-old Washington County man suffered minor injuries early Sunday morning when his 2004 Dodge four-door left the road as he tried to avoid hitting deer in the roadway. Nelson County EMS and police responded about 5:45 Sunday morning to the accident scene near 7995 New Shepherdsville Road at Weller Loop. The driver told police he saw deer in the roadway and when he swerved to miss the deer his vehicle ran off the road into a field. The man was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment.
