Flowers employee injured Friday night when trapped by equipment
Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, 12:30 a.m. — A 37-year-old woman suffered severe chest injuries Friday night when she was trapped between two pieces of machinery at Flowers Baking Co. of Bardstown, 1755 Parkway Drive.
Nelson County EMS and the Bardstown Fire Department were called to the Flowers Foods bakery at 11:32 Friday night for a report of an individual trapped between two pieces of machinery. According to first-responders, the victim was subjected to 4,500 pounds of pressure before she was freed. The woman was taken to helipad at Flaget Memorial Hospital where she was transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to University Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
