Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 — The winter storm warning for Nelson County has been canceled, though the National Weather Service expects a wintry mix of rain changing to freezing rain, sleet and snow to fall over all of Nelson County overnight.

At 9:38 Tuesday night, the weather service issued a Winter Weather Advisory to replace the earlier warning. Though the warning was canceled, the chances for hazardous road conditions remains high. Freezing rain will continue overnight with light icing, with ice accumulations of less than one-quarter of an inch expected. Untreated roadways will be slick and driving hazardous Wednesday morning. Be prepared to use caution when driving.
