Mary Margie Followay, 87, Raywick

Mary Margie Followay, 87, of Raywick, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

She was born May 31, 1925, in Raywick. She was a homemaker and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chalon “Ott” Followay; an infant son, Chalon Roy Followay; her parents, Elbert and Rosie Parkerson McCauley; one sister, Freida Bowman; five brothers, Bernard McCauley, Leroy McCauley, Pat McCauley, Charles McCauley and Dink McCauley.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosie Newton of Bardstown; five sons, Richard Followay and his wife Susan, Jerry Followay and his wife Nadine, Roger Followay and Darryl Followay all of Raywick, and Joe Followay and his wife Brenda, both of Bardstown; two sisters including her twin Margaret Casto of Louisville, and Della Mae Kleywig and her husband Nick both of Sioux City, Iowa; six brothers, Joe McCauley and his wife Effie, both of Shepherdsville, Jerry McCauley and his wife Barbara, Alton McCauley and his wife Mildred, Welton McCauley and his wife Juanita, all of Louisville, Delmar McCauley and his wife Faye, and Gerald McCauley and his wife Suzanne, all of Cox’s Creek; 11 grandchildren, Michelle Graves, Brandon Followay, Nichole Beam, Tonya Unseld, Thomas Newton, Scottie Newton, Chad Newton, Micah Followay, Keith Followay, Samantha Claypool and Joe Joe Followay; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are Keith Followay, Brandon Followay, Micah Followay, Thomas Newton, Scotty Newton, Chad Newton and Roger Followay.
