STAFF REPORT

newsbreakfirelogonew600(UPDATED 11:30 A.M. ) Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, 3:20 a.m. — Three Nelson County fire departments spent the early morning hours Monday assisting the Loretto Fire Department fight a large structure fire at 250 County Line Road in Marion County.

The Loretto Fire Department requested the New Hope Fire Department respond with manpower and equipment just after 2 a.m. Monday to the fire scene, located off Hwy 52 (New Hope Road) and right on the Nelson-Marion County lines.

Firefighters on scene reported the fire was spreading to other parts of the structure when the New Hope firefighters were requested. At 2:55 a.m. Nelson County Dispatch was asked to request manpower and equipment from the Rolling Fork Fire and Bardstown Fire departments to help fight the blaze. The Bardstown Fire Department was on scene for about four hours.

New Hope firefighters requested Nelson County Dispatch send an EMS squad for standby due to the size of the fire and the length of time firefighters expect they will be fighting the fire. The American Red Cross was also asked to respond to the fire scene.

The New Hope Fire Department cleared the fire scene at 11:10 a.m.
