Nancy Brown Bowling, 100, New Haven
Nancy Brown Bowling, 100, of New Haven, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27, 1912, in New Hope to the late Thomas Edward and Lillian Reid Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Raphael Bowling; one son, Thomas Brown Bowling; and one granddaughter, Angela Bowling.
Survivors include nine daughters,Sarah Margaret Bowling Collins and her husband William; Agnes Mary Jury and her husband Fred; June Carolyn Riggs and her husband James; Frances Ann Worth and her husband Charles; Lucille Burch Bowling; Louise Marie Morgan; Mary Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Kenny; Martha Virginia Flannery; Nancy Miram Thompson and her husband Jeff; one son, Dr. Joseph Raphael Bowling; one daughter-in-law, Janet Bowling; one sister, Grace Brown Lyon of Loretto; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to Lucille Burch Bowling who for many year lived with her mother giving steadfast and wonderful care, and to Agnes Mary Jury and her daughter Lisa for several years of excellent car and attention.
A Mass of Christian Burial is noon Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, and 8:30-noon Tuesday at the funeral home. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven.
