New Hope firefighters called to Gleanings Road for skidder on fire

Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, 11:30 a.m. — The New Hope Fire Department was called to Gleanings Road for a report of a skidder on fire. The call for the fire department was dispatched at about 4:11 Saturday afternoon. Firefighters found the skidder — a piece of heavy equipment often used in logging — on fire in the woods about one-quarter mile off the roadway. The fire department sent an engine, a brush truck and a water tanker to the scene. Firefighters were on the scene for 90 minutes.
