GARY HUTCHINS
Gary Michael Hutchins, 67, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Samuels. He was a retired Vice President for Town and Country Bank; a retired member of the Bardstown/Nelson County Fire Department after 21 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a past member of Bardstown Rotary Club, Nelson County Jaycees, Nelson County Red Cross, Boy Scouts, and Junior Achievement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former St. Joseph School Board member. He was also a gifted artist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Alma Vittitoe Hutchins; two sisters, Shirley McGoff and Donna Faye Hutchins; and one brother, Richard G. Hutchins.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Roberts Hutchins; one sister, Vickie Batcheldor and her husband Bernie; two brothers, Jerry Hutchins and his wife Fern, and Joseph L. Hutchins and his wife Patsy, all of Bardstown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.
Visitation is 2–8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Barlown Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening.
Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
