Steven Wayne ‘Skillet’ Willett, 36, Boston
Steven Wayne “Skillet” Willett, 36, of Boston, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his home in Boston. He was born Feb. 16, 1977, in Bardstown. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycles. He was a kind person who would give you the shirt off his back.
He was employed by Vittitow Basement Walls alongside his uncles and cousins. He attended St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Carl and Lucille Marie Price Willett; and one nephew, Jospeh Dale Willett.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Makesell Willett of Boston; one daughter, Amber Gail Willett of Bardstown; two stepdaughters, Kayla Willett and Jessica Willett, both of Boston; one step son, Nick Willett of Boston; his mother and stepfather, Brenda Phillips and her husband Randy, both of Bardstown; his father, Phillip Wayne “Flip” Vittitow of New Haven; his stepfather who helped raise him, Ronald Dale Willett of New Hope; his paternal grandparents, John P. “Jack” and Anna Marie Rust Vittotow of New Haven; five brothers, Carlos Willett and his wife Keri, both of New Hope, Jacob McCubbins and his wife Nicole, Alex Vittitow, Isaac Vittitow and Alvin Vittitow, all of New Haven; two stepsisters, Brandie Phillips and Kimberly Phillips, both of Bardstown; two stepbrothers, Anthony Edlin and DeWayne Edlin, both of Bardstown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2013, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven, with a prayer service Friday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
