James David Hamilton, 71, Bardstown

James David Hamilton, 71, of Bardstown, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 3, 1941, in Lebanon. He was self-employed in the tree service and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Hamilton; seven brothers, Bobby Hamilton, J.B. Hamilton, Billy Hamilton, Frankie Hamilton, Terry Hamilton, David Hamilton and Jimmy Hamilton; one sister, Libby Cahoe; and one grandson, Warren Nobel.

He is survived by four children, David Hamilton, Jr. of Brandenburg, Kenny Hamilton of Vine Grove, Sandy Hamilton of Arizona and Kevin Hamilton of Louisville; two sisters, Dorothy Norris and Nancy Lynn Thurman, both of Bardstown; two brothers, Charles Hamilton and Bruce Hamilton, both of Bardstown; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Expression of sympathy may go towards funeral expenses.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
