Mary Ann Peake, 86, Lebanon

Mary Ann Peake, 86, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She was born on Oct. 8, 1926, in Holy Cross and graduated from Holy Cross High School. She was a lifelong resident of Marion County. She worked at Heaven Hill Distillery for almost 40 years. She also worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Lebanon. She made many friends and loved working at both places.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Peake; her parents, Robert & Emma Ballard; one infant daughter, Brenda Marie Peake; one son, Gary Eugene Peake; five brothers, Tony Peake, Jerome Peake, Em Peake, Jude Peake, and Pete Ballard; and two sisters, Sis Mattingly and Rose Wilson.

Survivors include two sons, David Peake and his wife Connie, both of The Villages, Fla., and Chris Peake and his wife Cindy, both of Allen, Texas; one brother, Firmin Ballard; her neighbor, dear friend and exceptional and loving caregiver, Susan Leedom; seven grandsons, Troy Peake and Trent Peake both of Louisville, Dylan Peake, Jacob Peake and Shane Peake, all of Allen, Texas, Joseph Peake, and John Phillip Peake and his wife Caelene; two great-grandsons, Judah and  Levi,  all of North Richland Hills, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Victoria, of North Richland Hills, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer services at 5 p.m.

Memorial Donations may be made to Ursuline Sisters, Mount Saint Joseph, Maple Mount, KY 42356.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
