Ruby Couch, 87, of Bloomfield

Ruby Couch, 87, of Bloomfield, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Flaget Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Ruby Burkhead and a native of Washington County. She was a former employee of Springfield Tobacco Redryer, a member of the Bloomfield Church of God and a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Helem and Flossie Beavers Burkhead and was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Daniel Curtsinger; her second husband, Bill Couch; two sons, Ricky Curtsinger and Tony Curtsinger; one daughter, Betty Vessels; and two brothers, Onis Burkhead and Marshall Burkhead.

Survivors include seven daughters, Edna Smith, Rose Calvert and her husband Kenny, Mary Jane Boblett and her husband Bobby, all of Bardstown, Rachel Greer and her husband Eddie, both of Bloomfield, Ruby McIntosh of Louisville, Debbie Finch and her husband Alan, both of Elizabethtown, Rita Roten and his wife Eddie, both of Radcliff; one sister, Suerene Taylor of Bardstown; one brother, William Burkhead Jr. and his wife Wanda both of Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Bloomfield Church of God with Bro. Tim VanHook officiating. Burial is in the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Willisburg.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
