Rolling Fork Fire called to burning truck carrying propane tanks

Saturday, March 9, 2013, 3:39 p.m. — The Rolling Fork Fire Department was called Saturday to Old Hwy 52 off Lyons Station Road in LaRue County for a fire involving a large truck carrying propane tanks. The fire department was dispatched at 3:10 Saturday afternoon to a truck fire near a large building. Eyewitnesses reported the propane tanks exploded as the fire engulfed the truck. The LaRue County Fire Department was initially asked to respond for assistance, but they were canceled after the first Rolling Fork firefighters arrived to find the truck fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters remain at the fire scene at the time this post is published.
