Herbert Kyle Jr., 78, Hodgenville
Herbert Kyle Jr., 78, of Hodgenville, died Sunday, March 16, 2013, at his home. He was a lifetime member of Rolling Fork Christian Church. He retired after 31 years of service at General Electric in Louisville. He was a loving husband and grandfather. He was born June 24, 1934, in Louisville to the late Herbert Kyle Sr., and Margaret Elizabeth Noe.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jo Catlett Kyle; one daughter, Carol Sue Kyle; one son, Robert Allen Kyle; and one brother, William Lesley Kyle.
Survivors include his wife of four years, Ida Eleanor Kyle of Hodgenville; three daughters, Barbara Ann Hogge and her husband Roger, both of Munfordville, Gladys Marie Stieben and her husband David, both of Elizabethtown, and Betty Jo Kummer and her husband David, both of Shepherdsville; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Shawler and her husband James, both of Elizabethtown, Karen Gaillard and her husband Maurice, both of Radlicff, and Brenda Flack of Elizabethtown; three stepsons, Walter Pierce of Westport, James Pierce of Hodgenville, and Roger Pierce and his wife Robin, both of Big Clifty; one brothers, Claude Nelson Kyle of Arlington, Texas; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyons Station with the Rev. Tim Underhill officiating. Burial is in Mount Eden Cemetery in Shephersville.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Rust-Wright Funeral Home, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., in Hodgenville, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyons Station.
The Rust-Wright Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.
