Crume’s owner enters guilty plea to federal fraud charges
Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 11:40 a.m. — This morning in federal court, Crume’s Drugs owner Tim Sizemore changed his plea from “not guilty” to “guilty” in connection with wire fraud and health care fraud changes against him.
WDRB TV reported Sizemore changed his plea earlier today in U.S. Western District Court in Louisville. Sizemore has agreed to make restitution of $250,000 by May 3, but still faces up to 30 years in prison and a maximum fine of $500,000. Sentencing in the case is set for July 1.
Sizemore is accused of using patients’ and doctors’ names to create fake prescriptions and then billing insurance companies for them, even though they were never filled, and doing the same with Medicare Part D.
Federal investigators say the scheme took place between April 2010 and February 2012.
As part of the deal, Sizemore will have to pay roughly $250,000 in restitution before May 3rd.
Sizemore’s plea comes about a year after the Bardstown pharmacy was raided by the FBI.
