James Leon Nalley, Sr., 76, Loretto
James Leon Nalley, Sr., 76 of Loretto, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his home. He was born June 11, 1936, in Marion County. He retired from GE in 1994 after 40 years of service and was a member of the Loretto Sportsman’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Frances Wade Nalley; his parents, Henry Ivo Nalley, Sr. and Mary Genevieve Downs Nalley; four sisters, Margaret Ann Chesher, Frances Elizabeth Mattingly, Bonnie Wade and Angela Couch, one infant brother, Joseph Gary Nalley.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Brammer and his wife Charles, both of Loretto, three sons, James Nalley and his wife Patricia, both of Springfield, Don Nalley of New Haven and David Nalley of Mount Washington; four sisters, Omia Kelty and her husband Wilber, both of Springfield, Brenda Conder and her husband Roger, Sheila Warner and her husband Doug and Genny Lovingood, all of Bardstown; two brothers, Jerry Nalley and his wife Sandra, and Henry Ivo Nalley, Jr. and his wife Mary, all of New Haven; seven grandchildren, Lee Nalley, Jeremy Nalley, Scottie Nalley, Don Nalley, Ann Nalley, Kim Nalley and Nichole Brammer; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Holy Cross Church followed by burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, and noon-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Monday.
Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
