Catherine Lee Janes, 92, formerly of Bardstown

Catherine Lee Janes, 92, formerly of Bardstown, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Jewish Hospital of Shelbyville. She was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Nelson County as the former Catherine Hutchins. She was a former employee of Glencoe Distillery and a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of The Ascension in Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Arnold Janes; her parents, James Miles and Amanda Frances Greenwell Hutchins; one son, Gerald Janes; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Billy Janes and his wife Mary, both of Fisherville; one brother, Donnie Hutchins of Louisville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will celebrate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Church of The Ascension of Shelbyville.
