Christine Boblitt Polley, 91

Christine Boblitt Polley, 91, died peacefully Monday, March 25, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born March 21, 1922, in Nelson County. She was a bookkeeper for Shelton’s Furniture for 20 years and for Polley & Trent contractors until her retirement. She was a member of My Old Kentucky Home Order of the Eastern Star and Bardstown United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Gertrude Boblitt; her husband, John W. “Bill” Polley; one brother, Willie Lee Boblitt; two sons-in-law, Franklin Hibbs, Jr. and Gehrig Taylor; and a grandson, John Taylor.

She is survived by two daughters, Dixie Hibbs and Marie Taylor, both of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Frank Hibbs, Stephen Hibbs and Dana Skaggs and her husband Buzz, all of Nelson County, Laura Gilkerson and her husband Ron, both of Nicholasville, and Debra Taylor of New Port Richey, Fla.; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her constant canine companion,“Po-bo.”

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Mill Creek Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, and 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the funeral home.
