Phillip Dean Johnson, 67, Bardstown

Phillip Dean Johnson, 67, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born Sept. 3, 1945, in Bardstown. He was a former carpenter for Joe Hutchins and of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Edward and Monzell McCubbins Johnson; three sisters, Jo Ann Janes, Judy Lyvers and Mary Phyllis Johnson; and two brothers, Lonnie Johnson and William Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Smith Johnson of Bardstown; four daughters, Phyllis Byrd, Cecelia Hardin, Betty Shelburne and Viola “Val” Hatton all of Bardstown; two sons, Phillip Johnson Jr. and Lonnie Johnson of Bardstown; one sister, Lola Brown of Bardstown; three brothers, Van Johnson, Arthur Smith and Basil Smith all of Bardstown; and several grandchildren.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with Deacon Sam Filiatreau officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
