Howard Ray Young, Jr., 62, Navarre, Fla.

Howard Ray Young, Jr., 62, of Navarre, Fla., formerly of Bardstown, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Orlando, Fla. He was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Bardstown. He was a foreman for Holley Navarre Water Company and a Vietnam Veteran with the Coast Guard. He was a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), American Legion Post 382, and a former member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Bret Young; his parents, Howard and Iva Young; one sister, Barbara Greenwell; and two brothers, Ed Young and Michael Young.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Young of Navarre, Fla.; two sons, Eric (Jennifer) Young and his wife Jennifer, both of Bardstown, and Howard “Possum” (Tina) Young III and his wife Tina, both of Andover, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Belinda (Mike Lynch) Ernst of Navarre, Fla., and Danielle Ernst of Navarre, Florida; one stepson, Jeff Ernst and his wife Stephanie, both of Ashtabula, Ohio; the mother of his children, Lee Ann Johnson of Ashtabula, Ohio; two sisters, Judy Spalding and Jenny Boone, both of Bardstown; one brother, Earl Ray Young of Bardstown, 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
