FRANCIS GERALD ‘JERRY’ BOONE

Francis Gerald “Jerry” Boone, 83, of Howardstown, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, peacefully at his home. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown. He was on the Board of Directors of the Rolling Fork Fire Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Paratrooper Division. He was a representative of the Kentucky Peace and Justice Commission, a farmer, a retired employee of the National Farmers Organization as a milk marking agent, and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Leo Boone and Regina Eva Spalding Boone; one a son, Richard Lawrence Boone; one brother, Richard Leo “Ricky” Boone; and one great-grandson, Stephen Craig Boone.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Jean Montgomery Boone; four sons, Stephen Gerard “Steve” Boone and his wife Sonya, both of Howardstown, Joseph Paul “Joe Paul” Boone of Los Angeles, Calif., John Michael Boone and his wife Jessi, both of Cox’s Creek, and Mark Anthony Boone and his wife Lori, both of Raywick; four sisters, Patsy Boone, Doris O’Daniel and her husband Ray, and June Riley, all of Louisville, and Sr. Eva Marie Boone, OSU of Owensboro; two brothers, Bob Boone and his wife Cecilia, both of Howardstown, and Newman Boone of Boston; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown with the Rev. Ken Fortener presiding.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, and 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial Contributions may go to the St. Ann Cemetery Fund, Jerry Cecil, Sexton 665 Gaddy Ford Road, Howardstown, KY 40051.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
