Update: Victim identified in fatal Plum Run Rd shooting

Wednesday, April 10, 2013, 6:47 p.m. UPDATED April 11, 2013, 11:55 a.m. — Nelson County Coroner Field Houghlin has identified the victim in the apparent homicide on Plum Run Road as James Maurice Thomas III, 51, of 1660 Plum Run Road. The coroner’s office confirmed the man appeared to have died of a gunshot wound. The body was taken today to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville where an autopsy would be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

AT 6:25 Wednesday evening, Nelson County Dispatch received a report that a man was laying in a driveway and appeared to have been shot. Sheriff’s deputies and detectives were called to the home in the 1600 block of Plum Run Road to investigate. Police officers determined the victim was deceased and the county coroner was been requested.
