JAMES MAURICE ‘MARCY’ THOMAS

James Maurice “Marcy” Thomas III, 51, of Louisville, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013. He was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Marion County. He was employed with Jack Cooper Transportation in Louisville and was a member of Teamsters Local Union 89. He formerly worked as an independent Realtor and a truck driver with Thomas Trucking Company.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Maurice “Jimmy” Thomas, Jr.; one sister, Robin Thomas; and one infant brother, Anthony Thomas.

Survivors include his mother, Theresa Downs Thomas of Raywick; four daughters, Robyn Thomas, Francy Nally and her husband Derek, and Katie Thomas, all of Bardstown, and Ashley Auberry of Campbellsville; one son, Thomas James Thomas of Bardstown; one brother, Stuart Thomas and his wife Lori, both of Cox’s Creek; five grandchildren, Bryce, Emery, Tanner, Ella and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Fancis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday April 14, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant presiding.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
