Paul “Helldaddy” Moss Sr., 75, a resident of Bardstown since 1942, died Friday April 12, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1937, in Columbia. He was retired from General Electric, was a door greeter for Wal-Mart. He entertained thousands of children and parents as the “Rooftop Santa” at his home on Cathedral Manor. He loved classic cars, and was a former member of the Bardstown Volunteer Fire Department. He was a baseball coach, basketball coach, and a member of Masonic Lodge # 6 Duval Lodge. He was named to the Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Newsom and Catherine Moss; and one grandson, Matthew Ray.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Moss; one son, Paul Moss Jr. of Bardstown; one stepson, L. Wayne (Janie) Ray and his wife Janie, both of Bardstown; one step-daughter, Sonja Gilliam Ray of Pelham, Tenn.; one sister, Mildred Moss Greer of Knoxville; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Moss, Tony Ray, Terry Ray, Rob Ray, Jonathan Ray, Nathan Ray, Anna Gilliam, Samantha Brown, Noah Gilliam, Jacob Gilliam, and Autumn Gilliam; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Dr. Rick Loader will officiate.

Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to First Christian Church (D.O.C.)
