Sara Elizabeth Ritchie Johnson, 69, formerly of Boston

Sara Elizabeth Ritchie Johnson, 69, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Boston, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was a CNA at Windsor Gardens Nursing Home in Bardstown. She was born Jan. 18, 1944, in Bardstown to the late Roy Lee and Catherine Cecilia Bean Ritchie.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Ann “Patsy” Ritchie Silloway; and three brothers, Jack Ritchie, Roy Lee Ritchie, and Ernie Ritchie.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William F. “Bill” Johnson of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Pam Robertson and her husband Bobby, both of New Haven, ,and Kelley Nalley of Elizabethtown; three sons, B.J. Johnson and his wife Bonne, both of Louisville, Mike Johnson and his wife Melissa, both of Elizabethtown, and Steve Johnson and his wife Leslie, both of Bloomfield; three sisters, Lou Mudd and her husband Ivo, and Catherine “Chattie” Crume, all of Bardstown, and Sondra Nix and her husband Tommy, both of Boston; two brothers, James Lawrence Ritchie of Louisville, and Joseph Eugene Ritchie and his wife Vicky, both of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, all services will be private.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Flaget Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in Boston is in charge of arrangements.
