Bardstown Walmart evacuated after store receives called-in bomb threat

Thursday, April 18, 2013, 10 p.m. — Bardstown Police were called to the Bardstown Walmart at 9 p.m. Thursday to investigate a bomb threat the store received via telephone. The store, located at 3795 E. John Rowan, was evacuated after the bomb threat was called in just before 9 p.m. Passers-by reported seeing a large group of people standing in the store parking lot while police were on the scene.
The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were called to the scene for standby. Firefighters staged their units near Buffalo Wings & Rings on Granite Drive while police officers arrived at the store. Officers walked through the store with managers to look for anything suspicious. Nothing was found in the search. Officers and first-responders cleared the scene at about 10:09 p.m.
