Autistic teen who walked away from Middle School located

Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 3 p.m. — A 13-year-old autistic boy who walked away from Bardstown Middle School this morning was located behind the Balloon Lady’s Gift Shop about 1 p.m. by Bardstown Police. An attempt to locate the teen was broadcast by Nelson County Dispatch earlier in the day. Members of the Bardstown Police Department, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bardstown Fire Department canvassed downtown and surrounding areas searching for the teen. The boy was reunited with his mother and was returned to school.
