Man suspect in Tuesday hit-and-run crash arrested at Fogle Rd. home

Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 3 p.m. — A Nelson County man was arrested by police at a Fogle Road home after he left the scene of an accident Tuesday about 1 p.m. The man was driving a Pontiac that was involved in a collision with another car in front of Wendy’s Restaurant on North Third Street. A witness said the man got out of his car to check on the other driver, an elderly female. The man told witnesses he was going to move his car and return. The man got in his car and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Police pursued the suspect to a home on Fogle Road where he was taken into custody. The man’s car was also impounded. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The woman was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment of a possible head injury.
