Nelson County Circuit Court Indictments–April 17, 2013

Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. They are set for arraignment on Thursday, May 2, 2013, unless otherwise indicated.

13-CR-079. Christie Nicole Anderson, 29, Bardstown, first-degree burglary and complicity to same; criminal mischief, first-degree and complicity to same.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 6, 2013, Anderson, acting alone or in concert with Mikeala Hutchins, Joshua Ramsey and Cory Hood, unlawfully entered a residence with the intent to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon. The indictment further states Anderson, acting alone or in concert with Hutchins, Ramsey and Hood, damaged property belonging to others having the value of $1,000 or more. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-082. Zachary Keith Ragan, 20, Bardstown, tampering with physical evidence and complicity to the same; theft by unlawful taking over $300 and complicity to the same.

According to the indictment, on March 27, 2013, Ragan, acting along or in concert with Michael Powers, unlawfully took a water heater and other metal items having a value of less than $300. The indictment further states that Ragan, acting alone or in concert with Powers, took the stolen metal items to a scrap yard when believing an official preceding was pending. Bail was set at $9,500, plus conditions.

13-CR-83. Joshua James Ramsey, 28, address unknown, first-degree burglary and complicity to same; criminal mischief, first-degree and complicity to same; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 6, 2013, Ramsey, acting alone or in concert with Christie Nicole Anderson, Mikeala Hutchins, and Cory Hood, unlawfully entered a residence with the intent to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon. The indictment further states Ramsey, acting alone or in concert with Anderson, Hutchins, and Hood, damaged property belonging to others having the value of $1,000 or more. The indictment cited Ramsey’s prior felony convictions as the basis of the persistent felony offender, first-degree charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-84. Michael Ray Powers, 34, Bardstown, tampering with physical evidence and complicity to the same; theft by unlawful taking over $300 and complicity to the same.

According to the indictment, on March 27, 2013, Powers, acting along or in concert with Zachary Ragan, unlawfully took a water heater and other metal items having a value of less than $300. 13-CR-84. Cory Hamilton Hood, 27, Bardstown, first-degree burglary and complicity to same; criminal mischief, first-degree and complicity to same.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 6, 2013, Hood, acting alone or in concert with Christie Nicole Anderson, Mikeala Hutchins, and Joshua Ramsey, unlawfully entered a residence with the intent to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon. The indictment further states Ramsey, acting alone or in concert with Anderson, Hutchins, and Ramsey, damaged property belonging to others having the value of $1,000 or more. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-86. Dustin Scott Baxter, 36, Boston, third-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking over $500; tampering with physical evidence; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 23, 2013, Baxter allegedly entered a barn with the intent to take a lawn mower and other items having the value of $500 or more. Baxter, believing an official proceeding was pending or may be instituted, took the items to a scrap yard. The indictment cites Baxter’s prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender, first-degree, charge. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-87. James Edward Lewis, 42, Bardstown, forgery, second-degree, (three counts); persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 19, 2013, Lewis altered, completed or forged a check on another person’s account. The indictment cites Lewis’ prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender, first-degree, charge. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-88. Roderick Smalley, 36, Bardstown, wanton endangerment, first-degree, five counts; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 9, 2013, Smalley created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury by pointing a handgun in the direction of five individuals. The indictment cites Smalley’s prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender, first-degree, charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

13-CR-89. Maurice Lee Greenwell, 48, New Haven, trafficking in marijuana, 8 oz to 5 lbs; possession of a handgun while committing the offense of trafficking in marijuana, 8 oz. to 5 lbs; possession of controlled substance, first-degree; possession of a firearm while committing the offense of possession of controlled substance; possession of controlled substance, second-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 20, 2013, Greenwell possessed marijuana, 8 ounces or more but less than five pounds, with the intent to sell and also possessed cocaine while in possession of a several firearms. The indictment further states Greenwell was in possession of Buprenorphine (Suboxone Strips), a controlled substance, and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
