Michael Anthony Wathen, 31, Bardstown

Michael Anthony Wathen, 31, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born Oct. 20, 1981, in Bardstown. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tony and Bernadette Wathen; maternal grandparents, William Earl and Annie Vernie Mattingly; and one uncle, Jackie Mattingly.

He is survived by his father, Pat Wathen and his wife Teri, both of New Haven; his mother, Sandra Mattingly of Bardstown; three sisters, Deanna Wathen, Tina Wathen, and Whitney Mattingly; two brothers, James Wathen and Paul Wathen; and several loving relatives.

The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Ben Brown will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, and 8-9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home with a prayer service Friday evening.

Memorial contributions may go to Hazelwood or Masses at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
