Bardstown man arrested for allegedly calling bomb threat at local Walmart

bomb-scare-graphic_w300Thursday, April 25, 2013, 1:35 p.m. — Bardstown Police arrested a 20-year-old Bardstown man Wednesday night in connection to a bomb threat called in the Bardstown Walmart on Thursday, April 18.

The Nelson County Gazette had the exclusive story minutes after the store’s customers and employees were evacuation.

Acting on tips and phone records, police arrested Dashawn Pascal Aquino, 20, at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday as a suspect in the bomb threat.

In an interview with police, Aquino admitted he called in the threat after discussing the Boston Marathon bombings with friends.

He was charged with terroristic threatening, second-degree, a class D felony.

Police emphasised they take these events seriously. The investigation is continuing, and police would not comment if other persons were involved or will be arrested. They ask anyone with information about this incident to call them at (502) 348-6811.
