Kathryn Jo ‘Kack’ Russell, 99, formerly of Bloomfield

Kathryn Jo “Kack” Russell, 99, formerly of Bloomfield, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Westminster Terrace Health Care Center in Louisville. She was a native of Nelson County and the former Kathryn Jo Wilkinson. She was a retired employee of the Nelson County Board of Education having worked at Bloomfield High School. She was a member of the Blooomfield Big Spring Presbyterian Church were she had served as an elder.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Russell; her parents, Joe M. and Bessie Snider Wilkinson; and two sisters, Frances Jones and Sarah Wells.

She is survived by one son, Neale Russell and his wife Sylvia, both of Louisville; three grandchildren, Todd (Michaela) Russell and his wife Michaela, both of Taylorsville, Paul Gasaway of Nashville, and Ammie (Keith) Cooper and her husband Keith, both of Tucson Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren, Angel Russell, Jenna Russell, Reece Russell & Brody Russell, Cailynn Cooper, Ainsley Cooper and Emelie Cooper; and two nephews, Joe Wells and his wife Sue, and Phillip M. Jones and his wife Joyce.

The funeral is noon Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Joel Maude officiating. Burail is in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family asks expression of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Big Spring Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
