Joseph Lawrence Thompson, 74, Bardstown
Joseph Lawrence Thompson, 74, of Bardstown, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home. He was born May 10, 1938, in New Haven. He was the owner/operator of the Bluegrass Tavern, an Army veteran, and the founder of “Bluegrass Tavern Club”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lawrence and Theresa Hagan Thompson; four brothers, Pat Thompson, Mike Thompson, John E. Thompson (infant) and Bernard Thompson; and one sister, Pauline Mudd.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charleen Rogers Thompson; one daughter, Stephanie White and her husband Toby, both of Louisville; one sister, Theresa Lawson of Bardstown; and one brother, John Thompson and his wife Cathy, both of Simpsonville.
A memorial remembrance service is 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home in Bardstown with a private burial in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. with a private interment in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, and after 9 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013.
