Martha Franklin, 82, Bloomfield

Martha Franklin, 82, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was a member of the Old Chaplin Fork Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School. She was one of the Franklin Sisters who sang on a program on WBRT radio for 20 years on Sunday mornings. She also sang Billy Graham’s revival in New York City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Townsend and Martha Ethel Franklin; one sister, Ruth Franklin Berman; and three brothers, Hal Franklin, Bayne Franklin and Owen Lee Franklin.

The funeral is 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Cumbo will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.
