MARY ESTELLE BOONE WIMSETT
Mary Estelle Boone Wimsett, 80, of New Haven, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was a member of the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She was a 1965 graduate of Spalding University where she earned her Teacher Elementary Education certificate. She completed her Rank ll Teaching certificate from Western Kentucky University in 1975. She retired from the Nelson County Board of Education in August 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Beatrice Boone; her husband, William Raffo Wimsett Sr.; one son-in-law, Francis Allan Thompson; and her long time companion Joseph Harold Vittitow.
She is survived by three daughters, Jackie Ann Clark and her husband Kenny, both of Elizabethtown, Mary Gail Thompson, and Donna Marie Hurst and her husband Tim, all of Bardstown; one son, William Raffo Wimsett Jr. and his wife Annette, both of Bardstown; one sister, Mildred “Punky” Hartlage and her husband Paul, both of Elizabethtown; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Scott Wimsett and Troy Overton will be celebrants.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013, and 9-10:30 Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Sunday.
