Cox’s Station historical marker unveiling set for Sunday afternoon

A public unveiling of a marker to honor the location of Cox’s Station, the first settlement in Nelson County that was founded by Col. Isaac Cox in 1870, is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at 2005 Murray’s Run Road. Seating is limited, and those who plan to attend are asked to bring their own chairs.
The event is sponsored by the Cox’s Station chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A bronze plaque will be unveiled, and will include local elected officials, state DAR officials, and comments by local historian David Hall.
