One dead, 2 injured after Blue Grass Parkway rollover crash

Saturday, May 18, 2013, 11:30 a.m. — One person died and two were injured at the scene of a two-vehicle rollover crash on the Blue Grass Parkway early Saturday morning.

Nelson County EMS was called to the crash at the 15 mile marker in the westbound lanes on the BG at 5:56 a.m. A nurse who was at the crash scene told dispatchers an injured occupant of one of the vehicles had suffered a head injury. When EMS arrived they confirmed the injured occupant was deceased. The Bardstown Fire Department was called to extricate the victim from the vehicle.

The female driver of other vehicle was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital complaining of shoulder and hip pain. The woman told first-responders her vehicle rolled over multiple times before landing on its wheels in a ditch. Her child was also transported to the hospital to be checked out. Both were wearing seat belts.
