Northeast Nelson Fire called out to investigate smoke near BG exit 34

Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 8:50 a.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called Tuesday morning about 8:30 to investigate a report of heavy black smoke near the Bloomfield exit off the Blue Grass Parkway. Firefighters found the source of the smoke was a controlled burn on the Springhill Winery property. Firefighters were on scene for a very short time before returning to station.
