NORBERT NIX

Norbert Henry “The Snocone Man” Nix, 82, of Cox’s Creek, entered into eternal life, Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home after a long illness. He was born July 15, 1930, in Louisville, and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from Jim Beam Distillery after 37 years. He was a long time member of St. Gregory’s Church, where he loved to participate in picnics, bingo, choir, men’s club and many more church functions.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Nix; his parents, Jacob and Catherine Nix; four sisters, Rita Gutermuth, Dorothy Schub, Bernice Holstein and infant Catherine Nix; four brothers, Charles Nix, William Nix, Marcell Nix and Jacob Nix.

Survivors include three daughters, Laurie (Greg) Drane of Bardstown, Lynn (Doug) Karr and Lisa Nix, both of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Catherine Nix SCN, of Nazareth, and Margaret (Mike) Blandford of Louisville; one brother, John (Jean) Nix of Shepherdsville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
and many loving family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Eve will celebrate.

Visitation is 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent’s DePaul of Bardstown.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
